COLONY FIELD MANUAL / 0.3.2

From steam to ether energy

Follow the energy network from a leaf-powered start to the Crystal Generator.

Current authored machines: core, pump, boiler, furnace, tank and pressurizer

Energy in STEAM COLONY has distinct stages: heat, steam, high pressure, rotation, electricity and ether. Each needs its own equipment and connections. Research opens possibilities; the actual supply must exist in the world.

Steam: stabilize the source

Start with E1: Water PumpBoiler, heated by the Furnace. Start the Pump using Leaves and keep the Furnace fueled. Once established, the steam network can power the Pump itself.

The basic Boiler produces 5 Steam every 2.5 seconds, with internal reserves of 12 Water and 50 Steam. These figures describe a supplied machine; interruptions to water, heat or storage space reduce actual production.

Connect consumers to the gas ports and watch reserves during operation. Steam Points bring refueling closer to workers after L1.

High pressure: build a dedicated circuit

E2 requires R2. Connect the Pressurizer’s rear input to the steam network and use its front output for the pressurized network.

The High-Pressure Point serves compatible high-pressure robots. It cannot simply replace every ordinary Steam Point. A Gas Tank, available at L2, stores the fluid while preserving its type and pressure.

Electricity: couple the turbine and generator

After R3, E3 unlocks the electrical chain:

High pressure → Steam TurbineInduction GeneratorPower Conduits → consumers.

Supply the Turbine’s rear gas input. Couple its front mechanical output to the Generator’s rear mechanical input. The Generator’s front output starts the electrical network. A Battery provides a reserve; monitor production, demand and availability to check that consumers are receiving power.

Ether: research meets production

R4 opens the Sealing Chamber and ether component production. E4 requires E3 and R4 and unlocks the Crystal Generator.

Consult the recipes for Ether receptor, Ether core and Ether energy before increasing demand. The reserve used by the Ethereal Steam Veil must be planned separately from its construction materials.
